What a great day we had last Friday celebrating the school's 50th birthday! Thanks to all families for their efforts with some great costumes! It was a fantastic learning experience for our pupils, with visits from former pupils, learning about life in the 1960's and a super school fair at the end of the day! A huge thank you to our PTA for helping to raise over £100 for new playground equipment with their cake sale.

University Rocks! - posted 22nd Jun

Families from across the school had a fantastic time at the University of Nottingham's family discover day last Saturday. Over 40 pupils, siblings, parents, carers and teachers took the trip to the University's campus on a free day out! Families found out more the thousands of different subjects which you can learn about at university and the opportunities going to university can bring. Whether it's becoming a midwife, working with computers or handling scorpions every day, the opportunities are endless.  Our children were impeccably behaved and we had an inspirational visit. The coach home was full of children explaining what they were going to study. One of our core values is 'Inspire' - and this trip certainly did that! Thank you to all those who came along and enjoyed the fun!

Mouthwatering Treats at Food Fayre! - posted 22nd Jun

Last Friday, we held our annual food fayre in our school playground. We had so many customers, most of our stalls sold out! Pupils worked so hard to come up with some delicious treats from around the world. We had Swedish meatballs, Spanish Patatas Bravas, Mexican chilli and many more! We even had some teachers and puils wearing their conuntry's traditional dress. All profits raised will be spent on improving an area of school; with our school council consulting all classes on how the money can be best used. 'Respect' is one of our school's four values; the children learned all about how to respect and enjoy experiencing food and traditions from all across the world during the week.

Visit to Beth Shalom - posted 25th Apr

It was a very special day for a group of Year 5 pupils. They visited the National Holocaust Centre. This is sometimes known as Beth Shalom - House of Peace. We took part in some great activities with other schools, which needed some deep thinking and reflection. Next, we listened to a presentation from of Simon, a holocaust survivor, and his miraculous escape from Nazi occupied Poland. Finally, we spent the afternoon making scupltures inspired by the values they learnt about during the day - 'Hope' & 'Freedom After Suffering'. We are looking forward to sharing the message of hope and remembrance with the rest of the school.
